In Between Times
Once Upon A Time... There was a girl with a muse who hated her. The girl was trying to write a novel, and her muse liked fanfiction, so she sicced an IDEA on the girl, about the girl's favourite show. Okay, enough bullshit posturing. In November I joined a Live Journal Community called Open On Sunday, where fans of Buffy post drabbles based on ideas the moderator posts every Sunday night. My second time around, I wrote a bunch of drabbles about Spike, one of which included a description of one of the dreams he had over the summer Buffy was dead. I made a comment in response to Fauvistfly that I was considering writing every single day of the summer that Buffy had been gone. Stupid, stupid me. My muse hooked on that thought, and I wrote Numbered Days, a story documenting Spike's dreams over the summer, mixed with scenes from the summer of everyone trying to recover. Another week, another drabble topic, and I wrote a series of drabbles about moments from Season Six. This got my muse all fired up again, and this series, "In Between Times" is the result of that. I want to write all the moments we didn't see in Season Six, the moments that led to Buffy grabbing Spike and kissing him in "Once More With Feeling" and all the moments that Annie Sewell-Jennings and Wisteria didn't cover in their fabulously dark and enticing Hard Candy. So these are a series of fanfics, starting with "Numbered Days" and ending God only knows where, about the quiet moments, and the dark moments, and the millions of introspections that we didn't get to see. The whole series is rated a mild R for bad language and occasional sexual references. At this time, I don't think I'll be writing anything rated NC-17; erotic writing is not my forte. The standard disclaimer applies. These are obviously not my characters, some of these stories aren't even my plot lines. These are just my way of making sense of Season Six. I don't expect any money, I just have to write these stories. If you'd like to archive them, let me know. I'll fall over in a dead faint, then get up, cry a lot, and say yes. I'd just like to know where. Feedback is always appreciated. You can give it to me in my guestbook, comment in myLive Journal, or e- mail it to me at chevellegirl21@hotmail.com. Thanks for reading... I hope you enjoy. Quick Note: January 5th. This series is taking a somewhat NC-17 turn, starting with “Crash And Burn”. Not that I've forgotten my idea of writing all the stuff everyone else forgot, but I'm going to really screw up the narrative flow if I just skip all the sex. I accept that now.
Numbered Days - “I want you to know I did save you. Not when it counted, of course, but ... after that. Every night after that. I'd see it all again, do something different. Faster or more clever, you know? Dozens of times, lots of different ways... Every night I save you.” Spike, “After Life” Cigarette Smoke and Moonlight - “Why are you always around when I'm miserable?” - Buffy, “Flooded” Friends in Low Places - “Are there drinks in your world?” Buffy, “Life Serial” Blurry - “Yeah, bad to the bone.” Dawn, “All The Way” Kiss Me Deadly - ”The moment you suss out what you do want, there’ll probably be a parade. Seventy-six bleeding trombones” – Spike, “Once More With Feeling”
Never Leave Me - “You know that when I was kissing you, I was thinking about Giles, right?” – Buffy, “Smashed”
Crash And Burn *rated NC-17* - “Last night ... was the most perverse ... degrading experience of my life.” “Yeah. Me too” Buffy and Spike, “Wrecked”
Wreckage- Spike - “Stay. I'm stuck here. Sun's up.” – Spike, “Wrecked”
Wreckage- Buffy - “And that would be bad.” Buffy, “Gone”
Not An Addict - “I got addicted. You know, the way addicts do?” Willow, “As You Were”
Spike and Dawn’s Fantabulous Night Out “I'm not leaving you” – Spike, “Bargaining”
Hungry Eyes - “This vanishing act's right liberating for you, innit? Go anywhere you want. Do anything you want. Or anyone” – Spike, “Gone”
Something New - I still have to do some damage control from my giddy-fest. - Buffy, “Gone”
